Viollier - Image: Profile

In 1953, Georges Viollier MD founded the Viollier laboratory in Basel. On their way to school, the children collect samples and bring them ‘home’ to the laboratory.

The second generation, Anne-Françoise Viollier MD, Edouard H. Viollier MD, and Marc-André Viollier MD, take over the company. In 1987, the most modern laboratory center in Switzerland is founded in Allschwil, and the third generation is already putting together packages of preanalytical material in the school holidays.

Today, Dominic Viollier, lic. oec. HSG and Natalie Krebser-Viollier, master in psychology, the children of Edouard H. Viollier MD, also work in the company. One of Anne-Françoise Viollier MD daughters is a resident physician, the second is studying medicine.

What is behind the Viollier employees’ unique passion for service?

We help our partners to become more successful in prevention, diagnosis, and therapy. We reinforce our core competence in analytical and medical interpretation through personal, interdisciplinary additional services.

We ask a lot of our experienced team members in order to challenge and encourage them further. Under the patronage of Swiss Society for General Internal Medicine (SGIM), Viollier awards an annual prize worth CHF 10,000.– which is presented at the SGIM annual meeting.
The original publication should report on experimental or clinical research work with medical laboratory relevance.

Our medical laboratory reference work VioMecum is available as a book or at www.viomecum.ch. Le Vigaro provides you with reliable information on the latest in medical laboratory news from practice.

“Details make for perfection, but perfection is no detail.”
Leonardo da Vinci

Viollier’s employees – true professionals by vocation – must therefore all put our claim of ‘Detail as Vision’ into practice. Each of them is aware of their responsibility and is passionately committed to preserving and improving life, wellbeing and performance – in short, to health.

Viollier’s social commitment specifically concentrates on individual charity projects and institutions. Our focus is on sustainable social development, not just through financial means, but also through personal involvement.
