Early diagnosis of colon cancer - the new Septin 9 blood test |

From the age of 50 onwards, screening for colon cancer is recommended. As part of annual screening, a series of tests can be carried out to detect blood in the stool that is not visible to the naked eye (occult blood), indicating the presence of an intestinal tumor. Alternatively, colonoscopy can be performed as an ambulatory procedure, a highly reliable method for detection of intestinal tumors. During this procedure, benign tumors (polyps), which can become cancerous in the long term, are removed. |
