Aldosterone/renin ratio

Note

Blood collection after at least 30 minutes rest while lying down. | Centrifuge immediately and separate. Freeze immediately (-20 °C) | The following drugs influence the level of aldosterone-renin-ratio. They should be stopped 1 week prior to blood sampling (drugs in bold, 4 weeks) or replaced with the calcium channel blockers (Verapamil type) and alpha-blockers (e.g. Prazosin, Doxazosin or Terazosin), as a lower influence is expected on the aldosterone-renin-ratio.
elevated measurement values due to: beta-blockers, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID), central alpha2 agonists (Clonidine, alpha-Methyldopa)
lower measurement values due to: Aldosterone antagonists (Spironolactone, Drospirenone), ACE inhibitors, angiotensin 2 receptor blockers, potassium-saving diuretics (Amiloride, Eplerenone, Triamterene), calcium channel inhibitors (Dihydropyridine), renin inhibitors, loop diuretics | No post prescription possible.
