Cardiology and Pulmonology

Certainty starts with clear functional classification

Dyspnoea, chest pain, a weakened constitution or syncope cannot often be clearly attributed to the heart or lungs.

Functional diagnostics reduce this uncertainty until a sound assessment can be made.
When symptoms transcend disciplinary boundaries, this calls for integrated cardiopulmonary diagnostics.

Integrated cardiopulmonary diagnostics

Many indications straddle both the heart and the lungs as medical disciplines.

Diagnostic certainty can be attained only when both perspectives are assessed together.

Cardiologists and pulmonologists work closely with each other – from determining the indication through evaluation to interpreting the findings in the report.

This allows for nuanced assessments to be made even when the classification is unclear and provides a sound basis for treatment decisions.

Diagnostics in everyday practice

Palpitations, dizziness or syncope often require a rapid functional evaluation.

Monitoring studies allow for a prompt assessment to be made directly in a clinical setting.

All technical procedures are carried out in the clinic.
The specialist medical assessment is made on an interdisciplinary basis.

Benefits for the clinic

Specialist report without referral

Diagnostic assessment by experienced cardiologists and pulmonologists – without the need for patients to book additional appointments with specialists

Timely basis for decision-making

A clinically significant report with a recommendation for further action within 24 hours

No investment in in-clinic equipment or infrastructure

No acquisition costs, no maintenance and no technical administration in the clinic

Reliable logistics and support from a single source

Delivery and collection of the devices by the Viollier customer service team

This keeps the organisational effort low.
Complete patient guidance in the clinic.

Monitoring studies

Heart rhythm & blood pressure

24-hour ECG
Recording heart rhythm and heart rate in an everyday setting

7-day ECG (long-term ECG)
Long-term monitoring for rare arrhythmic events

24-hour blood pressure monitoring
Assessment of day and night profile and effectiveness of treatment

Breathing & oxygen supply

Pulse oximetry
Continuous monitoring of oxygen saturation and respiratory flow

Polygraphy
Measurement of respiratory flow, oxygen saturation, heart rate and body position

The evaluation is carried out by experienced specialists. The report is sent digitally and in a clinical context.

Settlement

For the fitting and removal of the 24-hour ECG and 7-day ECG, the TARDOC code TK 00.0150 may be billed once in the clinic in combination with AR 00.0130 (73.71 tax points).

The medical report is prepared directly by Viollier.

How it works in an everyday clinical setting

  • Ordering of monitoring devices
  • Delivery and collection of the devices by the Viollier customer service team
  • Clear instructions for fitting and use
  • Specialist medical report within 24 hours
  • Digital transmission of the report with diagnosis and, where indicated possible clinical recommendation regarding treatment

Advanced cardiopulmonary diagnostics

If monitoring alone is not sufficient, further examinations can be performed:

  • Resting ECG
  • Exercise ECG (ergometry)
  • Spirometry & body plethysmography
  • Diffusion measurement (DLCO)
  • Combined cardiopulmonary analysis (spiroergometry)

All results are assessed on an interrelated basis – not in isolation.
