Aldosterone (plasma)

Centrifuge immediately and separate. Freeze immediately (-20 °C) | The following drugs influence the level of aldosterone. They should be stopped one week prior to blood sampling (drugs in bold, 4 weeks).
elevated measurement values due to: Aldosterone antagonists Spironolactone, Drospirenone, potassium-saving diuretics Amiloride, Eplerenone, Triamterene, loop diuretics
lower measurement values due to: ACE inhibitors, angiotensin 2 receptor blockers, beta-blockers, calcium channel inhibitors (Dihydropyridine), non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID), renin inhibitors, central alpha2 agonists (Clonidine, alpha-Methyldopa)
